Samantha Nicole School of Dance

Established in 2015, we offer a range of dance styles for all ages and abilities. Our Grey Lynn based dance classes teach safe dance technique, through fun routines with modern music within a friendly and encouraging environment!

JAZZ

We offer jazz dance classes from ages 4 and upwards, following the Jazz Dance NZ syllabus. These classes incorporate a mixture of technical elements and routines. Students have the opportunity to sit annual exams.

LYRICAL

Following the JDNZ syllabus, our lyrical classes encourage creativity and emotion from our dancers. Often described as a combination of jazz & ballet, these classes build on technique and choreography.

HIP HOP

A more relaxed style of dance, our hip hop classes utilise APDA’s Urban Ignition syllabus, allowing dancers to develop their own style. Our classes introduce hip hop style skills and incorporate them in to a range of routines.

ACRO DANCE

Following the Acrobatic Arts syllabus, acro dance teaches skills across five divisions in flexibility, strength, balance, limbering and tumbling. The syllabus is designed to take dancers in a safe progression through levels, building on their skillset.

MUSICAL THEATRE

APDA’s Encore Theatre Dance syllabus is designed to compliment other technical dance styles, by providing a performance and role playing opportunity. The syllabus incorporates education and exposure to different genres within Musical Theatre,

BALLET

Using APDA’s modern approach to ballet, our classes are designed to teach foundational ballet technique in a fun and exciting way.

PRESCHOOL DANCE

Our Preschool Dance classes are for ages 2.5-4 and introduce our youngest students to a range of music & movement. With the focus on fun, we introduce dance technique in a playful setting, using props to add new elements.
